Fender HM Strat 1988 Original Style Guitar Greg Howe used on Introspection Album

This guitar is a recreation of legendary Greg Howe`s Fender HM Strat from his ’Introspection’ album cover!

– General information about original Fender HM Strat / don`t be confused with new 2020 Reissue /
Fender HM strats are produced between 1987-1992 in Japan/USA.
These guitars are famous mostly that the legendary guitarist Greg Howe use them in all of his albums in late 80`s-90`s.
The Fender HM strat was originally produced in Japan.
Some sources say production started as early as 1984.
Subsequently, in 1989, it was produced in the United States.
Some evidence indicates that assembly in the U.S. with components imported from Japan may have begun as early as 1987.
there are different opinions regarding the origin of these amazing guitars, but for sure they are high-quality instruments with own character!

– ’Introspection’ Modes

Greg Howe is my favourite guitarist and biggest inspiration.
All his albums are epic, but ’Introspection’ album is a real masterpiece and still rocks!
His white Fender HM strat on the cover has always been very attractive and desirable guitar!
I`m a Fender HM strat collector and decided to make one of my guitars in ’Introspection Mode’ – the same condition and configuration as Greg Howe`s original guitar!

1/ Pick-ups – I have replaced the neck and bridge pick-ups with 2 white DiMarzio Hot rails, the same as Greg`s guitar!
I have installed the follwoing pick-ups
– Neck – DiMarzio Chopper / DP184 /
– Bridge – DiMarzio Super Distortion S / DP218 /
2/ Tone control – I have removed the middle pot, but its exactly hidden inside and still connected with original wiring.
3/ The black square under the tone control is a sticker and can be removed very easy!

I keep all original parts / original pick-ups, original F-knob / and If you want to return the guitar in original condition I can do this very easy!
You can see the guitar in original condition on the last photo!
I can also make these changes and to sell the guitar in original condition – if you don`t want 2 DiMarzio Hot rails, I can reduce the price with 100 EUR!

– Condition of the instrument :

Functionally guitar works fine – its in original condition as hardware and electronics.
Tremolo Kahler Spyder works perfect and keep in tune.
Guitar is used very much, there are ’battle scars’ – dings, scratches here and there as well as paint cracks in front and rare -, normal signs of wear for 30 years old guitar.
Maple neck is a bit worn, the same as Greg`s guitar, but its very fast and comfortable neck.
Frets are recently leveled and recrowned and have a lot of life!

This guitar has been played – I can say its more a ’player guitar with a mojo’ than a perfect kept in ’time capsule guitar’!
I can send detailed photos on the battle scars and cosmetic remarks by request!
