Jimi Hendrix Marshall Plexi

Everyone – even if you are not a guitar fan have seen one of these beasts when they see old footage of the grand-master of electric guitar Jimi Hendrix! It’s a very nice looking amp too – I always thought Marshalls were much prettier than Fender amps which looked positively has-been to my young eyes.

But now I know better of course that Fender amps are the circuitry on which all the others are built – and they really do have a beautiful clean tone – it’s not like many guitarology – a myth perpetuated by people peddling something.

“Perhaps the best Marshall I’ve played. 1967 Marshall Plexi 1992 Super bass with a 1982A Marshall 4×12 with G12H25 (!) Pulsonic Celestion Greenbacks and Silverbacks (so cabs may be from early 68). I play it with a 1973 Fender Stratocaster (Alder) with 1976 Pickups.” See the video below…
